NCAA Championship: Why Michigan will win.

So tonight is the NCAA National Championship and its the overall number 1 seed Louisville and the number 4 seed out of the south Michigan.
The Cardinals and the Wolverines were both ranked number one in the country at some point this season but its the Cardinals who are at the top of the mountain at the moment.
The one thing the Wolverines have going for them is that the target isn't on their back anymore and they are playing the underdog roll.
They have a point guard that can dominate in Trey Burke and have the size inside that can cause problems for the Cards big men with Mitch McGray.

The real reason they have a chance to win this game is the play of Burke. The point guard dominated throughout the season en route to being name player of the year but the most important tell tale game was in the tournament against VCU.
Burke destroyed the Rams' press and made a team that was a fifth seed in the tournament look silly trying to guard him. Why is this important you ask? Because the Cards play a very similar style of play to VCU and Burke can exploit that.
While the Cards have a little bit more athleticism than do the Rams with Russ Smith and Peyton Siva in the back court Burke is better than both and will break the press with easy.

The X-Factor in this game for the Wolverines will be its ability to knock down open looks from Burke and that comes down to Tim Hardaway Jr.and Nik Stauskas. The pair combined to go 3 of 13 in the win against 'Cuse and it nearly cost the team the win. If Stauskas and Hardaway hit their shots the Cards will struggle to keep up with the Wolverines.
